Historically, seismic acquisition in transit areas is complicated due to lack of appropriate source and receiver equipment. Pike-D is a great solution for this type of surveys. Seismic pulse is generated by a shot of a nail gun cartridges, resulting in very high energy release up to 0.8 kJ. Bandwidth of such source is typically higher comparing to sledgehammer and other engineering sources available on market.
